Monitor Glucose

Privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-19. Applies to Monitor Glucose, Monitor Glucose Plus and the Monitor Glucose web app.

In short

We don't collect your data. Monitor Glucose has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It reads glucose and treatment data from the Nightscout site you connect it to, and keeps your settings on your own device.

Who we are

Monitor Glucose is published by [Monitor Glucose]. Questions about this policy: support@monitorglucose.ca.

Data the app uses

  • Your Nightscout site. The app downloads glucose readings, treatments (such as insulin and carbs), loop status and therapy profiles from the site address you enter. This data goes directly between your device and that site. It never passes through us. The site itself is run by you or by the hosting service you chose, under its own privacy policy.
  • Treatments you log. If you add a treatment in the app, it is sent to your Nightscout site, and only there.
  • Settings and connection details. The site address, access token or API secret, zones, alarms and display choices are stored on your device. In Monitor Glucose Plus, the secrets used for Loop remote commands are kept in your phone's secure storage (Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android).
  • Phone battery level is read on the device for the before-sleep checklist (so you can plug in your phone). It is not sent anywhere.
  • Reports are created as PDF files on your device. They are shared only when you choose to share them.

Internet check

When your Nightscout site doesn't answer, the app checks whether the internet itself is reachable, so it can tell you "No Internet" rather than "site down". For that it sends a simple request to Google Public DNS (dns.google) or the GitHub API (api.github.com). No glucose data, site address or personal information is included. As with any internet request, those services see your device's IP address.

Monitor Glucose Plus only

  • Camera or photos: used only when you choose to scan the QR code that sets up Loop remote commands. The picture is read on the device and not stored or sent.
  • Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint: used to confirm a remote command before it is sent. This check is done by your phone's operating system. The app never receives your biometric data.
  • Remote commands are sent to your Nightscout-compatible site, which forwards them to the Loop phone you follow.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell, rent or share data, because we don't have it.
  • We don't use advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking services.
  • We don't create user profiles or link your data across apps or websites.

Support messages

If you email us or use the help chat on this site, we receive what you write and your email address, and use them only to answer you. Please don't send your API secret, tokens or personal health details. Help-chat questions are answered with the help of an AI assistant. Support messages are deleted within 12 months.

Children

Monitor Glucose is meant for adults, including parents and caregivers who follow a child's readings from their own Nightscout site. It is not directed at children.

Your choices

Everything the app stores is on your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in your phone's settings, removes it. To remove data from your Nightscout site, use that site's own tools.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date.
